See you this Sunday!

One Month Away

SubVersion is only a month away. Here’s an update on what to expect.

Dreamland is pleased to annouce our “Guest Bartenders”, the Slants. Known for their unique brand of “Chinatown Synth Pop”, the Slants have been rocking venues around the country. They’ll be hanging out during the late hours of SV. Check out their sound here.

Our “Just Released Theater” selection is now up for your perusal. We’ve rearranged a bit to accomodate the length of this 3 part OVA. “Strait Jacket” is brand new in Japan, and will be a treat to see on the theater screen.

The schedule is now a bit friendlier to younger viewers earlier in the day. While we still have series with adult appeal, we’ve selected episodes that are safe for younger viewers. Please take the time to read up on our selections on the schedule page to ensure your child’s satisfaction. There are plenty of activities outside the theater if you feel a series will be objectionable.

We still have four slots remaining for cosplay teams. Remember, teams can be up to four people working on a single costume, and will be judged by professionals from the fashion community.

We look forward to seeing you at SubVersion!

Cosplay Fashion Show

First Dreamland brought you the freshest anime on a big screen. Now we bring you a fresh, new twist on an anime convention staple, Cosplay.  Just as we offer an anime event that focuses on anime, the SubVersion Cosplay Fashion Show focuses on the costume.

We are pleased to join forces with the Art Institute of Portland to bring you a catwalk event to remember. Costumes will be created by teams and judged by professionals from the fashion industry. Teams are encouraged to create the best costume on the best model for a chance at the best prizes in anime costume inspired competition.

The cosplay fashion show is now open to registration. Please see the sidebar and registration form for more information. Only 10 teams of up to four members will be allowed to compete, so sign up today!

Greetings from Team SV.

We were happy to meet all of the enthusiastic people at MEW, and tell them about SubVersion Anime Fest. Those who came to our table were invited to give us feedback on the shows and additional programming that they wanted to see in May. So far, the Cosplay Fashion Show is leading the pack, and will therefore be included as part of the event.

If you would like to contribute your ideas on what should happen at SubVersion, please fill out the survey in the sidebar, make a note on our forums, or email info @ dreamland japan.com.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!

Thanks,

Meg, Jon and Paul

Survey Responses are Rolling In

I’d like to take a moment to thank all of the people who have taken the time to fill out the survey. The responses have been very well thought out and encouraging! It’s very important that we ensure this festival is created around the desires of the attendees.

Many thanks to the folks who have already contributed their thoughts. If you have yet to participate, please follow the survey link in the side bar. It only takes a moment.

Remember, this survey is anonymous, so you will need to include your email if you wish to be entered in the Survey Raffle. Your email will only be used to contact you should you win, and to send you information about SV if you desire.

Thanks again!
